ABOUT US |
The Original Starfish Story found in Star Thrower: "One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, ‘What are you doing?’ The youth replied, ‘Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.’‘ Son,’ the man said, ‘don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!’ After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…‘I made a difference for that one.’ " ~Loren Eiseley |
Welcome to Million People For Pets! Our site has lovingly been hand created on behalf of all animals in need and is a direct result of the happiness and joy that my rescues, Snoop Silver (Australian Cattle Dog/Shepherd Mix), Ray Ray Steall (Domestic Shorthair Cat) and BB Steall (Black Domestic Shorthair Cat) have brought to my life and the lives of many others. We started out in February 2010 as a facebook fan page called I Bet I Can Find One Million People Who Love Their Pets Unconditionally and quickly realized that we have the capability of reaching many people near and far. Million People For Pets is a continuation of our work at I Bet I Can Find One Million People Who Love Their Pets Unconditionally and our mission is to partner with individuals and organizations who want to advocate the importance of giving animals the opportunity to live happy and healthy lives.
Unconditional love is a very powerful universal language that has no conditions, no boundaries and can be understood by those who are willing to see, feel, hear, love and understand. Animals have feelings, just like you and me and it is their ultimate right to be treated with dignity and respect. My greatest wish is for every single animal to be loved as much as my own and the only way this goal will ever be achieved is by uniting with those who are of like mind so that we can collectively be the voice for those who can’t speak for themselves!
Let's speak up loud and strong so that we can convey our message, save lives and help make this world a better place for all of us to live.
I hope you will join me in my quest!
Thanks,
Heather Steall, Founder Million People For Pets

"Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way."

The specialty Million People For Pets items that we offer regularly at http://teespring.com/millionpeopleforpetstiedye represent our core values of hope, faith, unity and unconditional love. All garments are labelled with our logo which symbolizes our committed effort to help the animals. Ten percent of all profits each month will donated to the Homeward Trails Animal Rescue located in Arlington, Virginia USA.
Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is an organization that I hold near and dear to my heart as it is where I adopted both Ray Ray and BB Steall. Homeward Trails has partnered with several high kill shelters in the Mid-Atlantic Region and each month we will help to sponsor designated pets in these shelters. Our donations will go to specific animals of our choice which will hopefully assist in offsetting the rescue costs. The intent is for enough money can be raised so that these wonderful beings can be brought to safety in the Washington, DC area. Homeward Trails will then care for them until they are able to be placed in foster and/or forever homes.
You can follow the animals that we sponsor each month by visiting our monthly sponsored pet blog at http://millionpeopleforpets.com/monthly-sponsored-pet-blog.html. We will ultimately be working to give these animals a voice and the opportunity for a second chance at living a life filled with happiness, joy and unconditional love.
